POSITION SUMMARY

Sony AI America (SAIA) is seeking highly motivated, self-driven DevOps Engineers. We’re currently looking for smart, enthusiastic people who want to join our team of world-renowned researchers and engineers as we push the boundaries applying AI in support of human creativity. In this role, successful candidates will work within our global operations team and help manage and extend cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, resiliency, and observability. Sony AI America is a remote-work organization – location is flexible.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the operations team as it expands cloud infrastructure by helping integrate new cloud services, providers and data center assets.
  • Collaborate on new projects with researchers/engineers on various teams and deploy operational components and pipelines.
  • Help the operations team integrate our global IT services into Okta and unify authentication across our services.
  • Maintenance, documentation, and extension of existing infrastructure automation code and configurations.
  • Assist team in automation/performance optimizations and best practice adoption for internal tools and infrastructure.
  • Managing and improving monitoring solutions and working towards automating remediation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR POSITION

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field with three years of post-degree or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Scripting experience in at least one language (Bash, Python, etc).
  • Experience working with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP or similar).
  • Experience working with an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) paradigm (Terraform, Cloudformation or similar).
  • Experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Kind, Helm, Tilt, etc).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • (Nice to have) Knowledge about monitoring tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus etc. as well as about authentication flows such as OAuth, OIDC and integrating applications into Okta.
