Profile

Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Guillem grew interested in how robotics and AI could be used to help disabled patients and augment humans with extraordinary abilities. Motivated by these ideas, he obtained his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering at Pompeu Fabra University in 2017, culminating with an award-winning thesis on the topic of an engineered wheelchair controllable through eyesight and head movements for paraplegic patients. Seeking further learning experiences, in 2018 he got the Spanish “LaCaixa” scholarship, and moved to Zurich to enroll in the master's degree in Robotics, System and Control from ETH. Two years later, after completing the degree with GPA distinction, he joined Sony AI to continue pursuing his vision.
